Class 2 - Northern Beaches
Coastal Waterproofing & Balcony Rectification
Commercial Facility (Child Care Centre) Waterproofing Systems & Façade Remediation
The Project
Waterproofing failures are one of the most common — and most damaging — issues in Sydney’s coastal buildings. This project involved widespread membrane failure across multiple balconies and podium areas. This was an ongoing issue for its manager where many other trades had failed to read its issues from many different angles.with water tracking into the structure below driving mould to a inhabitable state. Left any longer it would have become a significantly more expensive problem with concrete cancer truly being a huge concern.
What We Did
Full removal of existing fixtures and fittings. Remove failed membranes concrete grind and bleach dry for, substrate preparation. installation of a new compliant waterproofing system across all affected areas.filled with water to tank and test the workmanship.
Drainage was reviewed and rectified, and façade repairs completed where water ingress had caused surface damage to concrete and ceiling linings.
Works were scoped and documented in line with DBP Act requirements and Australian Standards for waterproofing — giving the owners corporation a fully compliant, warrantable outcome.
The Result
The water is out and it’s staying out. A problem that was getting worse every time it rained is now properly fixed — with the documentation to prove it.
